IJsseldijk solar farm generating electricity

Construction of Dutch solar farm, Apeldoorn IJsseldijk, was completed and connected to the grid this March. IJsseldijk will generate approximately 3.9 MWh of clean electricity per year; enough to power over 1,300 households.

The solar farm is located in the Apeldoorn region and covers 4.2 hectares, at a space bordered by trees and hawthorn hedges, and with grazing sheep. The solar farm has been designed specifically to enhance wildlife.

IJsseldijk solar farm will prevent 47,000 tonnes of CO₂ from being emitted, over its lifespan.
