Solarcentury obtains the necessary permits to begin construction work on Talayuela Solar
Valencia, 11 July 2019: Solarcentury, the global integrated solar power company, has obtained the Administrative Authorization of Construction as well as the Declaration of Public Utility from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition for the photovoltaic installation of Talayuela Solar.
The plant will have a capacity of 300 megawatts (MWp), making it one of the most powerful in Europe. The solar energy produced is enough to power 150,000 homes for an entire year (enough to power the homes in Badajoz). 80% of the plant was recently acquired by the solar and wind farm operator Encavis AG.
The plant is expected to be connected to the grid by the end of the second half of 2020.
Talayuela Solar is built without subsidies and is based on the power purchase agreement (PPA) model. This makes it one of the most innovative projects in the country thanks to its high efficiency and respect for the environment.
