Solarcentury has appointed Wolf Dietrich to lead its UK development business.

Wolf Dietrich has been appointed to lead the UK development business for Solarcentury.

Wolf has worked for Solarcentury since 2013; delivering numerous large-scale ground mount and rooftop solar projects. He has supported a number of community energy projects across the UK.

Wolf began his career in the computer industry before switching to renewable energy in 2008. The change in direction was inspired by a course project while studying for an MBA at Cass Business School. He later developed the project into a wind technology start-up.

In 2011, Wolf moved to Save Energy Group, leading on large rooftop projects for the commercial and industrial sector – before joining Solarcentury two years later.

On the announcement of his appointment, Wolf said he was “excited to take his next step with Solarcentury and be part of a team that will shape not just our UK development during these changing times, but the future of our energy supply, aiming for a greener and sustainable future with new generations of solar and storage projects.

“I’ve been passionate about the environment ever since reading John Brunner’s brilliant The Sheep Look Up in the mid-seventies, so I’m really happy to be heading up a team that focuses on projects and goals so close to my heart.”

Neil Perry, CFO of Solarcentury said he was “delighted to appoint Wolf to the role.

“We are excited for the UK market as we enter a period of falling PV and storage prices signals strong future growth in the sector. Under Wolf’s leadership, we trust that Solarcentury will continue to play a leading role in the UK’s renewable energy sector.”
